Episode 1: Sometimes Being a Hero isn’t so Super

Hi. My name is G.

But you may know me better as TechniGal.

I work at a helpdesk, saving people from technology – and technology from people.

Most people don’t notice me unless they have an emergency. Sometimes they even blame me for their troubles.

“My password isn’t working. Why did you change it?”
I didn’t.
“I put in a ticket or called you or something. Why didn’t you respond?”
I have no record of your issue
“I’ve been having this issue for weeks and never told you. Why is it still broken?!”
Um…

Most of the time, however, I love my job and I enjoy knowing that my work allows other to accomplish their goals and overcome their fear of technology. (Technophobia – is that a thing?)

To some, I am a superhero. To others, I am a “necessary evil.”

(I do believe Batman was viewed this way as well. It must come with the territory.)

However you see me, I am here to serve.
