Users upload a current photo and the app employs age progression technology to create a photographic image of the user at a much later age. The app can do other manipulations as well, employing AI (artificial intelligence) to create realistic alterations to selfies and other images.
Is it Dangerous?
The app was developed in Russia. The likelihood of Russian spies creating a database of all user data that has been uploaded is slim, but this is an excellent time to remind tech-users to be aware of any and all free apps they install on their devices. Free applications employ ads and other techniques to make money (everyone wants to get paid for their hard work), so your data can be compromised if you aren’t careful. Only download apps that are well rated, from the official app stores, and try to purchase the paid version of apps whenever possible.
